TFRC at Policy Connect’s Future Textiles Exhibition
This week at Textile Futures Research Centre we presented our new publication Material Futures in the ‘Future Textiles’ exhibition at the House of Commons in Westminister. Policy Connect’s Associate Parliamentary Design and Innovation Group and its Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, came together to curate an exhibition showcasing innovation in textile thinking and production. TFRC is central to this dialogue and we are pleased to be able to share our cutting edge approach to textile design in an environment where policy around design and manufacturing is debated and delivered.
Also amongst the exhibitors are MA Textile Futures graduates Natsai Audrey Chieza and Lynsey Coke, who showed their new design experiments into chemically embellished fabrics. The exhibition is open to the public until tomorrow in Parliament’s Upper Waiting Hall.
Hosted by Simon Danczuk MP for Rochdale, and supported by the Business Secretary Vince Cable, the ‘Future Textiles’ exhibition was made possible by sponsorship from the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and Creative Skill Set.
